Job description
Position Summary
As a Self-Checkout Attendant with Walmart Canada, you’ll play a key role in delivering a smooth and positive shopping experience. The role focuses on helping customers use self-service checkout areas, providing friendly support, and contributing to the retail experience through strong customer service.
What You’ll Do
- Keep the self-checkout area tidy, orderly, and free from clutter, spills, debris, and stray items.
- Guide shoppers on how to use self-service checkout features correctly and efficiently, where needed.
- Support company promotional programs such as credit card offers, product protection plans, and charity campaigns, when applicable.
- Watch customer activity to recognize when assistance may be needed.
- When interventions or checks are necessary, explain them calmly and politely, and reassure customers that these steps are part of normal self-checkout procedures.
- Show familiarity with handling EAS alarms and completing the Failure to Deactivate log.
- Notify the Customer Service Manager if the self-checkout area is short on cash or experiences a technical issue.
- Return Scan & Go scanners to their designated location after use.
Pay
The starting hourly pay for this role is $18.00.
