Job description

Role Overview

This opportunity is shared on behalf of a partner organization that will handle applications and all subsequent hiring steps. The role is based in the United Arab Emirates and is fully remote.

You will join a highly technical research function centered on studying, simulating, and defeating advanced bot-detection and anti-automation defenses operating at scale. The work sits at the intersection of web security, protocol analysis, offensive research, and infrastructure engineering. A major part of the role is to reverse engineer protection layers, strengthen access to public web data, and improve large-scale collection systems through research-led technical work.

The position offers substantial freedom to influence research priorities and implementation choices. It is well suited to someone who enjoys difficult adversarial problems, deep technical analysis, and building resilient systems in fast-changing security environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate modern anti-bot systems, web protection mechanisms, and controls that interfere with high-volume data collection.
  • Architect, build, and enhance HTTP client infrastructure so web data can be retrieved reliably and efficiently at scale.
  • Analyze adversarial systems by reverse engineering fingerprinting methods and mitigation strategies to uncover weak points and bypass paths.
  • Keep track of new web standards, protocols, and security technologies that could alter data collection behavior.
  • Create and improve techniques that emulate real-world attackers to test the resilience of anti-bot defenses.
  • Help advance large-scale data collection platforms through practical, research-backed engineering changes.
  • Work with engineering and research stakeholders to convert findings into deployable solutions.

Required Profile

  • At least 5 years of experience in research and development, security research, software engineering, or testing in demanding technical settings.
  • Strong command of HTTP and TLS, including how these protocols function and can be manipulated in real systems.
  • Experience in at least two of the following areas: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or C++; penetration testing or offensive security such as OSCP or OSEP; web or mobile security research; reverse engineering, including JavaScript deobfuscation or binary analysis; malware analysis; or development of anti-bot, WAF, or DDoS systems.
  • Practical experience with reverse engineering methods and analysis of adversarial systems.
  • Exposure to anti-bot technologies, web security tools, or large-scale protection platforms is a strong plus.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and the capacity to dissect complex systems to find weaknesses.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Prior experience in web security or anti-bot-centered environments is highly preferred.

Benefits and Work Environment

  • Compensation is competitive and aligned with experience and technical depth.
  • The role is fully remote and supports collaboration with a global team.
  • Opportunity to work on advanced adversarial security challenges and web-scale systems.
  • High autonomy and ownership over research direction and technical decisions.
  • Exposure to difficult, real-world security problems at very large scale.
  • A collaborative team culture with strong technical capability in both research and engineering.
  • The work can directly shape the evolution of large-scale data collection systems.

Application and Hiring Process

The application is reviewed by the partner company’s hiring process, not by the listing platform. Shortlisting is handled using an AI-supported matching workflow, after which the selected candidates are shared with the hiring employer for interviews and further steps. Final decisions, assessments, and interviews are managed internally by the hiring company.

Data Privacy and AI Use

Submitting an application means your personal data may be processed to assess suitability and shared with the employer for hiring purposes. This is done under applicable data protection principles, including legitimate interest and pre-contractual measures where relevant. Applicants may request access, correction, deletion, or objection rights as allowed by law.

Artificial intelligence tools may assist with parts of the recruitment workflow, such as application review, résumé analysis, or response evaluation. These tools support recruiters but do not replace human judgment, and the final hiring decision remains with people.
