Position Overview

This role is for a Security Manager working remotely from Germany, entrusted with shaping and leading the security program for a rapidly expanding technology company in the fintech space. The position entails defining security strategy, overseeing operations, governance, and collaborating with various internal teams to secure business assets without hindering innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement both immediate and long-range security strategies, encompassing the technology, processes, and capabilities aligned with business growth.
Lead and nurture a team focused on security operations, monitoring, incident response, and threat intelligence.
Administer the security governance framework, ensuring policies, standards, and control mechanisms are maintained and evolved for maturity.
Work closely with engineering to embed application, infrastructure, cloud, and endpoint security best practices.
Enhance security monitoring, detection, response, and incident handling capabilities continually.
Oversee third-party security risk management through comprehensive vendor assessments and reviews.
Align security controls with compliance and regulatory requirements in partnership with risk and compliance teams.
Promote organizational security awareness via training and fostering robust security habits.
Define and monitor security metrics to evaluate performance, communicate risk, and track improvement efforts at the leadership level.
Serve as a security strategist advising teams to balance protection with seamless user experience.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

Proven leadership experience managing security teams in fast-paced tech or growth-focused environments.
Comprehensive knowledge across security domains including security operations, cloud, application, infrastructure security, and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC).
Demonstrated expertise in incident response, security monitoring, and threat intelligence programs.
Strong technical proficiency with cloud platforms like AWS and securing modern endpoint environments.
Skilled in developing practical, scalable security policies and controls adopted throughout organizations.
Experienced in working with compliance and risk teams within regulated or security-sensitive industries.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management aptitudes able to convey technical concepts clearly to varied audiences.
Proactive problem solver with a hands-on approach to risk identification and mitigation.
Self-driven with the capacity to set strategic direction and execute initiatives in dynamic contexts.
Background in fintech, financial services, or B2B technology sectors is a significant advantage.
