Job description
Role overview
The Dublin Service Centre houses the Issuer Services Department, which sits within Citi’s broader Custody and Issuer Services organization. This team supports issuer-services clients, product partners, and sales teams across a wide range of activities, including depository services, issuing and paying agency work, and specialist agency functions such as account bank, project finance, structured finance, and escrow services.
The client base includes large multinational and domestic corporates, financial institutions, banks, public-sector and sovereign debt issuers, investment banks, asset managers, and dedicated collateral managers.
This position is part of a fast-moving operations environment and offers the chance to deepen knowledge of securities products while taking ownership of the daily processing for the Principal Paying Agency payments desk.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure all daily deadlines and currency cut-off times are achieved without delay.
- Prepare, input, and verify value-date payments and MT202/MT103 messages through internal platforms.
- Enter and validate PPA funding instructions.
- Check payments linked to registered and external depositary activity.
- Review daily tracking sheets that record currency payments across products.
- Monitor and trace funds as part of the credit approval workflow.
- Validate claim updates and recall-related adjustments.
- Manage and resolve queries arriving through the team mailbox.
- Coordinate with issuers and clients when funds are not received in time for value-date release.
- Support user acceptance testing for system changes and enhancements.
- Help manage team performance by conducting regular one-to-one meetings and providing coaching, training, and guidance.
- Contribute to ad hoc initiatives and projects across the department and the wider business.
- Work toward becoming the subject matter expert for the PPA desk.

Experience in payment or cash processing is important, along with familiarity with SWIFT message formats, especially MT202 and MT103. The role also requires someone who can sustain productivity during periods of changing volume and take a proactive approach to managing workflow.
Required background

- Practical exposure to payment and/or cash processing.
- Knowledge of SWIFT messaging, particularly the structure and formatting of MT202 and MT103 messages.
- Strong verbal and written communication ability.
- Good interpersonal skills and a strong service mindset.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong organisational ability and accuracy under pressure with tight daily deadlines.
- Ability to maintain performance levels even when volumes fluctuate.
- Self-driven approach to workflow management.
- Exposure to Agency & Trust or Corporate Trust operations would be an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree, university degree, or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
