Job description
Position Overview
Shared Health coordinates patient-focused clinical and preventive health services province-wide in Manitoba. This role supports the Manager Health Services - Adult Emergency and the Manager of Emergency Clinical Processes and SANE Program by providing comprehensive clerical assistance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage job postings and associated paperwork alongside position control tasks.
- Register new employees for orientation sessions and keep the managers informed on staffing levels.
- Maintain and update staff profiles and daily schedule changes within the ESP staff scheduling system.
- Generate staffing reports as required and organize appointment calendars for managers.
- Perform additional clerical duties as delegated.
Experience and Qualifications
- At least two years of related work experience, ideally within health care.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
- Fluent oral and written English communication skills.
- Preference for candidates with prior staff scheduling experience.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Education and Certifications
- Completion of Grade 12 education meeting Manitoba standards.
- Successful graduation from an accredited secretarial training program.
- Additional credentials in administration or management are favorable.
- Typing proficiency of 50 words per minute and a minimum 75% score in medical terminology.
- Computer literacy with strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; familiarity with Access and PowerPoint is preferred.
- Knowledge or experience using the Environment for Scheduling Personnel (ESP) or similar staff scheduling platforms is advantageous.
- Human Resources Management certification preferred but not mandatory.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
The position entails working under pressure in a busy, high-traffic emergency department setting requiring resilience and adaptability.
Additional Information
- The anticipated work schedule is full-time (1.00 FTE) with 8-hour daytime shifts.
- Annual base work hours total approximately 1950.
- Starting salary ranges incrementally from $23.95 up to $27.69 per hour based on experience.
