About the Role
This seasonal, fully remote position supports the assessment of undergraduate applications, enabling the selection of a diverse and capable cohort. The role involves a thorough and thoughtful review of applicant credentials, requiring strong analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and sound decision-making while working within established standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of varied application materials, including academic transcripts, personal essays, extracurricular activities, and supplementary documents.
- Holistically assess each applicant to identify academic strengths, significant achievements, experiences, and potential community contributions.
- Deliver accurate, detailed application reviews adhering to set productivity and quality expectations.
- Participate in necessary training sessions, weekly team meetings, and keep updated with current admissions practices and trends in higher education.
- Apply consistent evaluation criteria while safeguarding applicant confidentiality throughout the review process.
- Highlight and summarize critical information in applications to inform admissions decisions.
- Collaborate effectively with admissions personnel and contribute to discussions regarding evaluation standards.
- Maintain organized documentation and ensure all reviews are completed within specified deadlines.
- Exhibit professionalism, ethical judgment, and discretion in handling sensitive applicant information.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Prior experience in college admissions, recruiting, secondary education, academic advising, or student support roles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking skills capable of analyzing and distilling complex information.
- Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- High level of detail orientation to identify key information within diverse application materials.
- Capability to operate independently while engaging collaboratively with remote teams.
- Commitment to confidentiality, ethical standards, and discretion in information handling.
- Availability to attend required virtual meetings and in-person training events.
- Access to a personal computer and reliable, secure high-speed internet connection.
- Experience working with students from historically underrepresented groups is advantageous.
- Familiarity with holistic admissions processes, international education systems, enrollment management software, and tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Office, and Gmail is beneficial.
