Overview

The Brickyard is a nationwide civic and service organization founded by Veterans, aiming to strengthen communities through social events, community service, and civic participation. The organization focuses on fostering connections among people from diverse backgrounds to encourage civic responsibility and local leadership.

Role Summary

We seek a full-time Program & Communications Coordinator to support the planning, execution, and communication of our civic and service programs. This remote role, reporting to the Senior Program Manager, operates as a vital support function coordinating program operations and managing digital communications to enhance organizational impact through effective storytelling and marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage program operations to ensure smooth delivery of civic and service initiatives.
  • Administer social media accounts including content creation and community engagement across platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and TikTok.
  • Oversee administrative responsibilities, track budgets, and measure program impact.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, fundraising, operations, and leadership teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 2-3 years experience in nonprofit programs, communications, marketing, event planning, project coordination, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management capabilities, adept at handling multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace and Canva for graphic and presentation design.
  • Experienced in managing professional social media using scheduling tools like Sprout Social or Hootsuite.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms like Salesforce, Airtable, or HubSpot.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Commitment to The Brickyard's Community Agreement and openness to professional feedback.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Veteran, military family member, or experience working with military/Veteran communities.
  • Background in startup, nonprofit, civic engagement, education, public service, or mission-driven sectors.
  • Knowledge of email marketing platforms such as Iterable, MailChimp, or HubSpot.
  • Experience supporting virtual events or webinars via Google Meet or equivalent tools.
  • Understanding of basic website content management systems.
  • Skills in data collection, reporting, and program evaluation.
