About the Role
Cranleigh Abu Dhabi is inviting applications for a highly organised and hospitable individual to join the Pre-Prep team as a Receptionist. This role is ideal for someone enthusiastic about contributing to a bustling school environment and dedicated to delivering excellent service to young students, their families, and visitors.
As the initial point of contact for the Pre-Prep School, you will be instrumental in ensuring a welcoming, smooth front-of-house experience. Your responsibilities will include managing daily administrative tasks, overseeing attendance monitoring, and serving as a vital communication hub connecting parents, staff, and visitors.
Fluency in both Arabic and English is crucial to effectively support our diverse parent community.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main contact for attendance-related inquiries from parents, staff, and leadership.
- Track, document, and update student attendance data using school management systems such as iSAMS and Engage.
- Investigate unexplained absences and communicate attendance trends to senior leadership and Heads of Year.
- Maintain timeliness logs and issue reminders to parents about punctuality when necessary.
- Manage sign-in/out procedures for late arrivals and early departures.
- Compile and distribute daily absence reports to relevant departments.
- Ensure compliance with ADEK regulations by managing necessary attendance records.
- Handle attendance data during school functions, trips, and exams.
- Welcome and guide visitors at reception, providing a friendly and professional atmosphere.
- Respond promptly and professionally to telephone and email enquiries following school protocols.
- Support safeguarding by managing visitor sign-in systems and issuing badges.
- Assist the Administration Team with communication tasks, filing, printing, and event setup.
- Participate in administrative and pastoral team meetings as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum educational requirement: "O" Levels, NVQ, High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- Preferred 1 to 2 years of experience working in school administration or a customer service role.
Skills and Knowledge
- Fluency in both spoken and written Arabic and English is essential.
- Familiarity with school information management systems such as iSAMS, Engage, or SIMS.
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational abilities.
- Professional telephone etiquette.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Capacity to remain composed under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail.
