School Librarian

About the Role

Regal Crest Travel & Tour is seeking a dedicated School Librarian to manage and organize the library resources at a bilingual international school located in East Legon, Greater Accra Region, Ghana. This full-time, on-site position involves maintaining the school library’s collection, overseeing circulation, and ensuring accessibility to materials for both students and faculty.

Key Responsibilities

• Catalog and maintain library materials efficiently using appropriate classification and metadata standards.
• Manage the circulation of books and other resources to students and staff.
• Provide library instruction to guide students and educators in research methods and effective use of print and digital collections.
• Support teaching staff by recommending educational materials that align with curriculum objectives.
• Organize reading programs and initiatives to encourage engagement with library resources.
• Create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all library users, ensuring non-discriminatory access.
• Maintain accurate library records, monitor usage statistics, and collaborate with school leadership to enhance library services continuously.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proven experience of at least two years in library instruction, preferably within an academic or school setting.
• Strong expertise in library services, including management, cataloging, and metadata application.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service abilities, with a collaborative approach when working with students, educators, and administrative staff.
• Diploma or degree in Library Science, Information Studies, Education, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Proficiency with library management software and basic digital tools is highly advantageous.
• Commitment to providing inclusive and equitable library services for diverse user groups.
