Job description
Overview
This permanent position involves working 75 hours every two weeks to support Yukon's educational initiatives. The Schools branch is dedicated to running and enhancing various school programs across Yukon. The School Council Liaison serves as the main contact between the Department of Education and Yukon School Councils and related organizations, fostering solid partnerships in the educational community.
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications
The role requires experience in stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution, and project management. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies, and procedures effectively, alongside providing financial and administrative assistance. Experience within school environments is advantageous but not mandatory.
Essential Qualifications
- Post-secondary coursework in public administration, dispute resolution, or related fields
- Proven ability to lead diverse stakeholders, address sensitive issues, and provide support
- Extensive background in interpreting/applying legislation, policies, and procedures
- Strong project management experience from start to finish
- Capabilities in financial and administrative support
- Background in educational settings considered an asset

Additional Information and Conditions
- Position requires a valid Class 5 driver's license and ability to obtain notary public status within two months of hire
