Position Details and Overview
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) invites applications for a Scheduling Clerk role within its Home Care Program, located at WRHA Community Health Services - Point Douglas Home Care, 80 Sutherland, Winnipeg. This position is a 0.80 FTE role with daily shifts spanning days, evenings, and weekends, working onsite for 7.75 hours per day. The annual base hours total 2015. The salary range progresses through six levels from $26.532 to $30.359 per hour. The anticipated start is immediate, with a closing date for applications on August 7, 2026.
Role Responsibilities
Under the supervision of a Team Manager and collaborating closely with the Resource Coordinator, the Scheduling Clerk will manage the schedules of Direct Service Staff by entering data into the Home Care scheduling system. Tasks include assigning shifts, coordinating with registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, rehabilitation assistants, integrated support workers, home care attendants, and home support workers to ensure effective communication between staff, clients, and other Home Care personnel.
Required Experience and Skills
- 2 to 3 years of related administrative experience
- At least 6 months of experience with scheduling duties
- Proficient data entry skills, including email and use of computerized calendars (GroupWise)
- Experience with mail distribution, photocopying, faxing, and managing filing systems
- Healthcare experience is advantageous
Education and Qualifications
- Completion of high school or equivalent studies
- Formal education in applied office skills is mandatory
- Medical terminology knowledge preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with Procura is desirable
- Keyboard typing speed of 45 words per minute

- Strong organizational and communication skills, both oral and written
- Capacity to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proven capability to perform assigned duties and contribute efficiently within a team setting
Employment Conditions
The successful candidate must pass a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check, with any incurred fees being the responsibility of the employee. These checks are valid if conducted within six months prior to employment commencement. Note that no employee may hold multiple WRHA positions exceeding a combined 1.0 EFT across all designated WRHA entities.
