Role Responsibilities and Requirements
The Patient Registrar handles admission documentation tasks precisely and courteously, ensuring compliance with established guidelines. Effective communication in English and the use of medical terminology are essential. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in computer operation and maintain composure under stress. The role demands commitment to continuous learning and alignment with the Centre's core values, vision, and quality improvement goals.
Education and Experience
- Minimum Grade 12 education with a keyboarding speed of 55 words per minute.
- One year of previous registration experience or successful completion of a recognized Health Access Admission course.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification as mandated by employer policy.
Additional Requirements
- Physical health sufficient to meet job demands.
- A current satisfactory Criminal Records Check including Vulnerable Sector Search, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check must be obtained no more than six months prior to employment; candidates are responsible for associated fees.
- Employees cannot hold concurrent positions exceeding a total of 1.0 FTE within the WRHA legal entity.
- Selected candidates might be requested to participate in a skills assessment during the interview process.
