About the role

Amrize is hiring a Scale Attendant to support shipping and plant operations in Pleasant Valley, Nova Scotia. In this position, you will help keep internal truck movement safe and orderly, verify weights accurately, and maintain the records needed for smooth daily shipping activity. The role combines live traffic coordination with administrative support to help the plant run without interruptions.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage internal truck flow safely and efficiently by coordinating movements over radio and phone, helping reduce delays and safety risks.
  • Weigh incoming and outgoing trucks and keep digital tracking records accurate in spreadsheets.
  • Handle administrative tasks that support day-to-day shipping operations and keep productivity on track.
  • Prepare dependable shipping and weight reports so managers can use them for operational decisions.
  • Keep documentation and data entry accurate to strengthen compliance and record-keeping practices.
  • Communicate in real time with bulk loaders to prevent bottlenecks and improve loading turnaround.
  • Follow health, safety, and environmental policies at all times and help reinforce a strong safety culture.

What we are looking for

The role calls for someone with strong attention to detail, good communication skills, the ability to juggle several tasks at once, and a reliable, organized approach to repetitive operational work. You should also be comfortable solving issues as they arise and working closely with drivers, bulk loaders, and plant staff.

Additional requirements

  • High school education is required.
  • Relevant work experience of 1 to 3 years is needed.
  • You should be able to use SAP ERP software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strict compliance with safety rules and approved PPE is mandatory, including respirators where required.
  • If respirators are required, employees must be clean-shaven where the seal contacts the face in order to pass qualitative and quantitative fit testing.
