Overview

The Satellite Terminal Manager is responsible for directing the daily operations and overall performance of the station, ensuring efficiency, regulatory compliance, and superior service delivery. Working hand-in-hand with the Director of Network Operations, this leader manages teams, oversees workflows, and upholds operational and financial controls to align daily activities with customer expectations and organizational goals. This role demands strong leadership, robust decision-making skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities within a rapidly changing logistics setting.

Compensation

The pay scale for this position ranges between $85,600 and $137,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. This range complies with Hawaii's pay transparency policies, and final salary offers will reflect experience, skills, and internal parity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate in a safe manner adhering to all HSSE policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with other terminals to ensure freight is delivered efficiently and on schedule
  • Work alongside Repair & Maintenance, Sales, and IT teams to optimize daily operational processes
  • Lead and oversee daily operations to guarantee accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional service standards
  • Ensure consistent execution of freight forwarding and dispatch functions
  • Oversee inbound and outbound shipments to meet on-time delivery goals
  • Assist with tracking operational and financial performance metrics
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to frontline staff consistent with company standards
  • Promote safety practices and compliance with operational regulations
  • Assist in scheduling, staffing, and employee performance management
  • Supervise shipment coordination, tracking, scheduling, proof of delivery processing, customer communications, and rate quotations
  • Review billing accuracy and conduct invoicing and cost/revenue evaluations
  • Support processes related to Accounts Payable/Receivable and claims resolution
  • Maintain adherence to company policies, safety standards, and all relevant federal and state regulations
  • Coordinate with Human Resources on recruitment, hiring, training, coaching, and disciplinary actions
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives
  • Participate actively in operational audits and project tasks

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in logistics, supply chain management, or transportation
  • Proven knowledge of operations management, financial principles, and team leadership
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • At least 10 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain sectors
  • 10 years of supervisory experience in high-volume or multi-location settings
  • Familiarity with freight forwarding, dispatch systems, or transportation management software
  • Experience with operational reporting and performance measurement
  • Ability to pass all required background screenings, including employer, customer, and SIDA checks

Physical Demands

Primarily office-based with routine exposure to warehouse and operational environments. The role involves prolonged computer use and occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds.
