About the role

ASB is seeking a Salesforce Software Specialist to support its Lend and Protect Tribe on a 13-month fixed-term basis in Auckland. This role sits within the Engineering Practice and is focused on building, running, and maintaining the Salesforce platform that supports important customer-facing products and services.

The position is suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership of programmatic requests, translating stakeholder needs into practical technical solutions, and working in an agile team that values autonomy and continuous improvement. The role calls for strong Salesforce expertise, especially in low-code capability and APEX development, along with the communication skills needed to influence stakeholders and help shape successful delivery outcomes.

What you'll do

  • Work with squad members to understand and check business requirements, including security, scalability, and platform limit considerations.
  • Use APEX extensively to extend and improve the solution.
  • Design and implement flows that support business needs.
  • Enhance Opportunity Management capability within Salesforce.
  • Build custom user interfaces, including Lightning Web Components.
  • Follow Salesforce development best practices, keep documentation current, and create and maintain test classes for custom work.
  • Handle all aspects of user and licence administration, including onboarding and deactivation, roles, profiles, permissions, public groups, OWD, and sharing rules.

Experience and skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience delivering Salesforce initiatives.
  • Ability to write, review, interpret, and challenge technical specifications.
  • Strong focus on improving Salesforce solutions and refactoring existing code to align with best practice.
  • Ability to gather requirements and present solution options clearly to stakeholders.
  • Experience building solutions with a DevSecOps mindset.
  • Salesforce and nCino certifications are advantageous.
