Unique Metals Laser is an Australian-owned, privately held business with origins dating back to 1972. The company operates from multiple sites across mainland Australia and delivers high-precision laser cutting and fabrication services to a wide range of industries.
About the role
This position is based in Coopers Plains, Queensland, and sits within the sales estimation team. The successful applicant will work closely with customers as the main point of contact, collecting the information needed to provide prompt, professional, and effective service. The role reports to the Sales Estimator Team Leader.
Key duties
- Prepare quotations using industry-standard CAD software.
- Handle incoming orders and related processing tasks.
- Keep customers informed with current order progress and status updates.
- Obtain pricing details from suppliers.
- Respond to technical questions and general customer enquiries.
- Support customers throughout each stage of their product’s manufacture.
- Assist external sales staff and customer service colleagues as needed.
Candidate profile
The company is looking for an eager, reliable, and committed team member who can work effectively in a busy environment. Experience in internal sales within engineering or manufacturing would be a strong advantage, and drafting experience with CAD tools is also desirable.
Required skills and experience
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service and internal sales experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Confidence working in a fast-moving environment.
- Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Understanding of quality management systems.
- Exposure to manufacturing or engineering environments is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of laser cutting and fabrication processes is an advantage but not essential.
