Sales Assistant - Retail - Toys R Us, Al Sadd Mall

About the Role

This position is for a Sales Assistant in the Toys R Us store at Al Sadd Mall. The role is centered on creating a welcoming shopping experience, supporting daily store operations, and helping the team achieve sales goals through active customer engagement and strong service standards.

What You’ll Do

• Approach shoppers promptly, welcome them warmly, and build positive interactions from the moment they enter the store.
• Use product knowledge to guide customers and help them choose items that suit their needs.
• Encourage purchases through upselling, add-on suggestions, and timely follow-up with customers.
• Thank customers as they leave and invite them to return.
• Keep the store tidy, well arranged, and aligned with housekeeping and visual standards.
• Support fitting room service and ensure the cash wrap area remains clean and orderly.
• Record customer details accurately in the database for marketing and sales reporting.
• Promote and offer gift cards during checkout and handle the cash wrap process efficiently.

Skills Needed for Success

• Strong customer service approach with the ability to connect positively with shoppers.
• Ability to maintain a neat store environment while working efficiently.
• Comfort using CAD and visual merchandising tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Illustrator, or Photoshop.
• Accuracy in cash register handling and checkout support.
• Good verbal communication and a customer-friendly manner.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items when required.

Role Requirements

• A high school qualification is required.
• Prior retail sales experience of 1 to 2 years is preferred.
• Hands-on knowledge of CAD software and related design applications is expected.
• Ability to communicate clearly and carry out physically demanding tasks when needed.
