Role overview
This position plays an important part in IKEA’s retail operation by helping drive sales and making sure customers enjoy a positive experience in the market hall. The role supports store operations under the shopkeeper’s direction, including product arrangement and upkeep of the sales area. Strong performance in this job means meeting sales goals, reflecting the brand’s values, and helping maintain a welcoming store atmosphere. The successful candidate should be adaptable, customer-oriented, and consistent in following company policies.
Key duties
- Welcome shoppers as soon as they enter the store and do so with a warm smile.
- Set the tone for a great customer experience through an upbeat approach and proper dress code.
- Share accurate, up-to-date information about products with customers.
- Maintain a positive image of the merchandise, brand, and company at all times.
- Interact comfortably with the public by bringing a friendly and engaging personality.
- Help drive revenue by achieving or surpassing weekly sales targets.
- Take part in all inventory activities in the market hall.
- Follow IKEA’s policies and procedures without exception.
- Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the shopkeeper.
- Organize merchandise and keep the sales floor presentable.
- Join store meetings and any connected events or functions.
- Keep the store neat, polished, and orderly by maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Be physically able to lift stock and remain on your feet for at least 8 hours.
- Work effectively within the sales team and cooperate with colleagues and management.
Required profile
- Strong spoken communication skills.
- A customer-first mindset aligned with Al-Futtaim and IKEA values.
- Physical stamina to lift items and stay active for long periods.
- Energetic, positive approach to customers and teamwork.
- At least 1 year of retail sales experience.
- High school education or an equivalent qualification.
- Working knowledge of retail operations and fast-moving stock environments.
