About the Role
Mitre 10 MEGA is a well-established home improvement and garden brand that has supported Kiwi communities for many years. A full-time position is now available in the Indoor/Power Garden team for someone who enjoys helping customers and working in a busy retail environment. With spring approaching, the team needs additional support.
Work Schedule
This role follows a roster from Sunday to Thursday, with a total of 40 hours each week.
Key Duties
- Offer warm, practical advice and helpful service to shoppers.
- Assist customers with garden-related needs such as managing weeds, starting new lawns, or choosing products like water blasters.
- Maintain tidy, well-stocked displays so products are easy to locate and purchase.
- Develop strong product knowledge to guide customers toward suitable solutions.
- Contribute as a dependable member of a fast-paced and supportive retail team.
Indoor / Power Garden Product Areas
- Garden power tools including hedge trimmers, line trimmers, and leaf blowers.
- Irrigation equipment, hoses, and watering products.
- Fertilisers, pest management items, and general garden care supplies.
- Hand tools such as pruners, loppers, and trowels.
- Advice on plant care, placement, and seasonal gardening guidance.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone with a positive mindset, strong customer focus, and a genuine interest in gardening or garden care products. Good communication, a willingness to learn, reliability, teamwork, and a proactive attitude are all important. Prior experience in retail or a garden centre is helpful but not required. Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
