Job description
About Minelab
Minelab is an innovative technology firm known for creating state-of-the-art metal detectors. Our products aid humanitarian groups in clearing landmines, assist gold prospectors in discovering valuable nuggets, and help historians retrieve lost artifacts. Our culture of innovation keeps us at the forefront of outdoor technology worldwide.
Role Overview
We're seeking an enthusiastic Sales Account Manager to expand our presence across New Zealand. This role suits individuals who relish outdoor environments, enjoy customer engagement, and aspire to grow within a globally recognized outdoor tech brand. You will support our dealer and retail partners across both New Zealand islands by fostering relationships, driving sales growth, conducting product demonstrations, and representing our brand at significant events nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain solid relationships with dealers, retailers, and customers across New Zealand.
- Develop existing accounts and discover new retail and dealer prospects.
- Conduct engaging product demonstrations, provide training sessions, and organize retail activations.
- Represent the company at Fieldays, trade shows, dealer open days, club events, and community gatherings.
- Support the introduction of new products, promotional efforts, and seasonal sales drives.
- Collaborate with retail partners to enhance product assortment, merchandising, and customer interactions.
- Maintain a structured call cycle, manage the sales pipeline, and update CRM records diligently.
- Collect customer feedback and market insights to inform future product and sales strategies.
- Travel extensively throughout New Zealand to assist customers, attend events, and pursue business development activities.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate thrives on building relationships, enjoys fieldwork over desk duties, and is driven to grow customer partnerships. Prior experience in sales, account management, business development, or territory management—especially within outdoor recreation, sporting goods, hunting, fishing, camping, or 4WD retail—is highly valued. Familiarity with dealer or retail networks is advantageous.
A genuine passion for outdoor activities such as prospecting, metal detecting, camping, hunting, fishing, or farming is essential to understand our customer base and to effectively represent our products. Candidates should be well-organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing their own travel and workload remotely. Proficiency with CRM systems and a data-oriented mindset for managing customer relations, sales leads, and forecasting will support success in this position.
Culture and Benefits
Our workplace culture emphasizes support, collaboration, and innovation, welcoming new ideas from all team members. Staff benefit from a flexible environment that helps balance family commitments, along with opportunities to participate in various staff events connecting colleagues across the wider Codan Group.
