Role Responsibilities

  • Perform site risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards.
  • Ensure all operations comply with Amazon's established safety protocols.
  • Generate and maintain safety metric reports for review by team members.
  • Collaborate with Operations staff and other departments on safety-related initiatives, offering guidance on safe practices.
  • Assist in the implementation of new safety measures and procedures.

Work Environment and Daily Activities

You will work primarily at a designated Amazon site, facilitating close monitoring and being readily accessible to answer safety-related inquiries throughout work shifts. Your duties concentrate on proactively identifying safety risks by thoroughly inspecting equipment use and processes. Additionally, you will play an active role in enforcing safety improvements and supporting the Operations team with various safety tasks as they arise.

Team Overview

The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team is dedicated to safeguarding employee mental and physical health by adhering to Amazon policies and legal standards. Roles within the team span from safety technicians to program managers, involving diverse projects such as equipment inspections, process assessments, and safety design initiatives that uphold high standards of safety and wellness.

Qualifications

  • Mandatory: Health and Safety NVQ Level 3 or NEBOSH National General Certificate, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Preferred but not essential: A valid UK driver's license.
  • Proven skills in effective communication with varied stakeholders through writing or presentations.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.

Additional Information

This role requires flexibility to work night shifts and availability to travel to nearby sites when needed.
