Job description

Role overview

The Safety Systems & Data Coordinator (Coda Lead) will oversee the company’s safety systems with a strong emphasis on the Coda platform, the training matrix, and safety reporting. The position acts as the main reference point for safety data, keeping information accurate, consistent, and accessible for teams across sites and departments.

Working closely with field staff, project management, and senior leaders, this role helps drive adoption of the system, improve data quality, and turn safety information into practical insights that support performance. The position also contributes to documentation standardization, compliance monitoring, and reporting across North America, with responsibilities expected to broaden as the safety program expands toward global operations by 2027.

Systems ownership and administration

  • Take responsibility for the Coda safety platform, including its structure, access permissions, and overall functionality.
  • Maintain the corporate safety training matrix and keep it current.
  • Ensure the system remains dependable, easy to use, and aligned with operational requirements.
  • Handle user access, onboarding, and issue resolution across departments.
  • Improve workflows continuously to better support field execution and reporting.

Data management and integrity

  • Keep all safety records and documentation accurate, complete, and updated on time.
  • Review data quality and follow up with teams to close gaps or fix inconsistencies.
  • Set and maintain consistent data standards for all safety documentation.
  • Support tracking for incidents, inspections, training, and compliance records.

Reporting and KPI visibility

  • Create and maintain dashboards and KPI reports for leadership and operational teams.
  • Translate safety data into clear, practical insights on performance and trends.
  • Monitor key measures such as incident reporting, training compliance, and document completion.
  • Support reporting needs on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Program support and standardization

  • Support the rollout and adoption of the Off-Site Safety Program and Coda-related requirements.
  • Standardize forms, templates, and documentation processes across the business.
  • Work with Corporate Safety to ensure systems reflect policies and procedures.
  • Help add new programs into Coda, such as LOTO, rigging, audits, and inspections.

User support and training

  • Train and guide employees on how to use Coda and meet system expectations.
  • Support onboarding for new users across departments.
  • Create user guides, quick-reference materials, and training content.
  • Serve as the main contact for system questions and support requests.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Partner with Project Management, Engineering, Service, Controls, and Installations teams to support adoption of the system.
  • Work with IT and outside developers, including Coda specialists, to improve functionality.
  • Help align safety systems across multiple sites and regions.

Qualifications and preferred background

The role calls for 3 to 5 years of experience in data coordination, system administration, or a safety support position. A CRST or SRSP designation, or progress toward one, is strongly preferred.

Applicants should have strong experience with data platforms such as Coda or Excel, along with the analytical ability to turn data into useful recommendations. Strong organization, communication, and collaboration skills are important, as is the ability to work with multiple stakeholders across departments.

Travel of up to 20% is expected.

Education and professional development

A diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Business, Data Management, or a related area is preferred. Experience or training in data analytics, reporting tools, or system administration will be considered an advantage.

The company is looking for someone committed to ongoing learning, process improvement, and developing stronger skills in data visualization, reporting, and system optimization.

Why this role matters

This position is important to creating visibility, accountability, and structure within the corporate safety program. By keeping data accurate, supporting adoption, and delivering clear reporting, the coordinator helps leaders make better decisions and supports consistent safety performance across operations.

The role also contributes to stabilizing North America operations while building a foundation for scalable, data-driven safety management on a global level.
