Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to join our team at a manufacturing facility specializing in electrical panels located in Al Khobar / Dammam. The successful candidate will be entrusted with the responsibility of establishing, applying, and maintaining safety procedures to ensure the welfare of all staff and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the creation, execution, and periodic review of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures aligning with corporate goals and regulation requirements.
- Promote awareness and adherence to HSE guidelines among all workers and contractors.
- Carry out systematic inspections of the manufacturing environment, machinery, and operational protocols to uncover potential risks specific to electrical panel production such as electrical hazards and lockout/tagout practices.
- Ensure the facility complies with Saudi safety laws as well as international standards, including OSHA and NFPA regulations.
- Prepare and preserve all mandated safety documents, permits, and reports for submission to regulatory authorities.
- Conduct routine toolbox talks and safety meetings focused on workplace hazards and safe practices relevant to electrical panel fabrication.
- Carry out comprehensive risk assessments for manufacturing processes, equipment, and new undertakings.
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses to identify underlying causes and implement timely corrective and preventive measures.
- Maintain meticulous incident logs and generate detailed reports.
- Develop and test emergency response protocols such as fire drills and responses to electrical shocks.
- Design and deliver extensive safety training, including orientation for new hires, electrical safety, machine guarding, confined space procedures, fire safety, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Provide live demonstrations of safe operational procedures and equipment handling.
- Manage PPE requisites by evaluating task requirements, ensuring adequate inventory, and regular inspection of PPE condition and usage.
- Supervise the maintenance and inspection of fire safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers and hydrant systems, ensuring constant operational readiness.
- Strictly follow factory HSE policies, especially regarding electrical testing and live panel work, and immediately report unsafe conditions to supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Graduate or diploma holder in a relevant discipline.
- International safety certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or IOSH are highly desirable.
- 3 to 4 years of experience in a comparable health and safety role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Saudi Arabian safety regulations and global standards applicable to industrial and electrical sectors.
- Proficient in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Experience with electrical safety standards, including NFPA 70E and lockout/tagout protocols, is an advantage.
- Competent in preparing and delivering educational safety training sessions.
