Role and Responsibilities
The Safety Officer's primary duty is to observe and evaluate hazardous or unsafe conditions within the workplace. They are responsible for creating strategies and measures to ensure the safety of all personnel at the site.
- Identify and correct unsafe acts or environmental conditions using the standard authority channels.
- Possess the authority to take immediate emergency action to halt or prevent unsafe activities when urgent intervention is necessary.
- Maintain constant vigilance regarding ongoing and emerging safety situations.
- Incorporate safety advisories within each Incident Action Plan to communicate safety priorities effectively.
- Engage in planning sessions to highlight potential health and safety issues related to everyday operational tasks.
