Safety Model Data Quality Assurance Analyst - Swahili Speaking

About the Role

This position sits within ADSO, TikTok Product’s EMEA AI Data Service and Operations team. The group supports international products by delivering safety and non-safety annotation work, along with search operations that help strengthen the data ecosystem and safety controls behind those products.

The work includes reviewing, reading, watching, and listening to user-created content to check whether it aligns with community standards. Content may cover ordinary day-to-day material as well as material involving bullying, hate speech, child abuse, sexual assault, torture, bestiality, self-harm, suicide, and murder. You should be prepared for regular exposure to upsetting or harmful material.

What You Will Do

• Handle day-to-day operational activities such as quality reviews, guideline and process improvements, queue allocation, and escalation management for the evaluation program.
• Coordinate with internal partners to stay current on guideline changes and share implementation feedback.
• Carry out routine audits in internal systems, then document findings and provide error analysis to R&D and Product Management stakeholders.
• Track evaluator quality performance and work with management to identify the underlying causes of performance issues.
• Monitor project data, maintain daily output and quality records, prepare reports and analysis, and verify information shared with stakeholders and partners.
• Adapt and localize guidelines, plan training timelines, and work with key stakeholders to ensure a smooth launch within the required timeframe.
• Train new team members on processes, products, and guidelines.
• Help design product knowledge assessments, review the results, and partner with stakeholders to raise the team’s product understanding.
• Carry out the role while handling sensitive material, including content related to child exploitation, religious and political viewpoints, violence, and adult or sexual themes, though this will not be frequent.
• Take on other reasonable duties needed to support the team and the role.

What We Are Looking For

• A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong command of Swahili, since the role communicates with Swahili-speaking markets.
• Fluent English, which is the working language for the role.
• Background in search engines and social media platforms, with prior experience in a search-related business environment.
• Experience working across functions and managing stakeholders effectively.
• Good analytical and communication ability, along with adaptability and flexibility.
• Preferred exposure to project management, project operations, or knowledge of how people typically use the internet.
