About the Role

Join ShipBob as a Safety Lead in Site Operations, based at the Bethlehem, PA fulfillment center at 4779 Hanoverville Rd building 200. This position involves actively supporting safety compliance activities by conducting daily safety observations, documenting any unsafe conditions, and escalating them to operations leadership for resolution. The role also includes aiding in the delivery and management of Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) and Trailer Dock Release (TDR) training programs under guidance from Operations leadership.

This position requires spending significant time on the warehouse floor performing audits, engaging with associates, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The Safety Lead reports directly to the Site General Manager and maintains a secondary partnership with the Safety organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the execution of PIT and TDR training for new hires and current associates, as directed by the Safety team.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring of associate adherence to PIT and TDR procedures, escalade any non-compliance to leadership promptly.
  • Keep precise records of certifications and training activities.
  • Support investigations related to PIT incidents and propose corrective measures.
  • Perform daily safety inspections including warehouse walks, audits of PIT operations, pedestrian pathways, emergency exits, dock procedures, storage, and housekeeping.
  • Report and track all safety issues, behaviors, or compliance gaps, ensuring corrective actions are completed efficiently.
  • Maintain inventory and inspection logs for safety equipment such as fall protection harnesses, lanyards, first aid kits, eye wash stations, AEDs, spill response supplies, emergency equipment, fire extinguishers, and safety signage.
  • Carry out routine inspections and remove or replace damaged or expired safety equipment as necessary.
  • Assist with onboarding and conducting safety orientations for new employees.
  • Engage in incident investigation and root cause analysis processes.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness drills and provide assistance during response activities.
  • Support internal safety audits and regulatory inspections as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or fulfillment center safety roles.
  • Practical knowledge of Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) and Trailer Dock Release (TDR) operations.
  • Basic understanding of OSHA safety standards and warehouse safety best practices.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, and compliance evaluations.
  • High attention to detail and solid organizational abilities to maintain accurate training records.
  • Capability to promote safe behavioral changes in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and training management software.
  • Physical capability for extended periods of walking, standing, stair climbing, and warehouse work, including lifting items up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 30-hour Certification.
  • Trainer certification specific to Powered Industrial Truck operation.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
  • Experience in fulfillment, logistics, or e-commerce operational environments.
  • Background supporting safety management systems and compliance programs.
