Job description
Role overview
This position supports the operational delivery of radiation protection and radiography-related work from the Qatar office, covering job sites across onshore and offshore locations, as well as projects in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Key responsibilities
- Apply all required precautions to protect employees, contractors, the public, and the environment from radiation-related risks, while following instructions issued by the Ministry.
- Maintain the ALARP approach at all times during radiography activities.
- Confirm that personal protective equipment and all radiation monitoring and measuring devices are available, suitable for the task, and properly calibrated.
- Manage the movement of radiation sources to site in line with local laws and client requirements.
- Ensure transport notices, vehicle conditions, and other legal/client transport requirements are followed.
- Support accurate regulatory reporting, quality control, and complete data collection.
- Report to the site supervisor or superintendent and help ensure inspections are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably for clients.
- Verify that the work area is safe for NDT tasks and that permits, barricades, monitoring, and local rules are properly observed.
- Complete risk assessments, observation cards, and Take II as required.
- Monitor and control activities before, during, and after radiography work.
- Confirm that inspections are performed within the limits of the applicable specification.
- Carry out routine checks on equipment and consumables, report any issues immediately to supervision, and follow Oceaneering safety checklists.
- Assess test results against the relevant specification.
- Deliver work efficiently and on time, while adapting to changing priorities when needed.
- Perform work according to Oceaneering procedures and statutory, client, and site requirements.
- Work as part of a two-person crew and act as a radiographer during RT execution.
- Ensure TLD badges issued to the RT crew are worn continuously during RT work and replaced after the wear period, with used badges returned to the origin.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with the client.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by management.
- Follow the company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems in all work activities.

- Work in line with the company's Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems and the Integrated Management Systems.
- Use due diligence, avoid waste in all forms, recommend more environmentally friendly materials and practices, and contribute to continuous environmental improvement.
Qualifications and experience
- Degree in Science or Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- PCN or CSWIP certification is preferred over third-party ASNT certification.
- Applicants must have an offshore medical, annual eye test, and BOSIET.
- Holders of third-party ASNT certificates must complete Oceaneering certification successfully, and this is mandatory for appointment.
- Working knowledge of radiation safety and emergency response procedures.
- Completion of recognized RPO training from an accredited center licensed by the Ministry for Municipality and Environment, State of Qatar.
- IRATA Rope Access Level 1 or 2 is desirable.
- At least 5 years of experience in relevant inspection techniques within the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Windows-based applications is required.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.

- Analytical ability, including collecting and interpreting information, using experience to complement data, and creating workflows and procedures.

Eligibility
This opportunity is intended for qualified professionals with a science or engineering background, valid radiation-protection and offshore prerequisites, and at least 5 years of relevant oil and gas inspection experience. Candidates with recognized RPO training and applicable certification, including rope access credentials, are suitable for consideration.
Work environment
The role is based in Doha, Qatar, and involves site work across onshore, offshore, and regional locations in the Middle East and North Africa. It is a fixed-term position for 12 months.
