Role overview
East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is looking for a highly motivated Band 5 Rotational Physiotherapist to join its welcoming and fast-moving rotational therapy teams. This position sits within the Trust’s rotation programme, giving exposure to a wide range of clinical settings and patient groups.
Rotational areas
The post follows a four-month rotation structure across several services, allowing time to build confidence and clinical competence in each area. The rotation includes Acute Medicine, CCU/ICU surgery, Orthopaedics, Community, Hospital Inpatients and Integrated Community Teams, MSK, Rheumatology, Stroke, Neurology and Paediatrics.
What the role involves
You will work independently to assess and manage patients, coordinate with colleagues and other healthcare professionals, and manage your workload effectively. The role requires sound clinical judgement, clear reasoning, and the ability to explain your decisions and actions confidently.

The Trust is seeking someone who can adapt easily to changing clinical demands, communicate well, and function effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Candidates must also show evidence of recent learning and ongoing professional development, along with the values of Care, Compassion, Courage, Competence, Communicating effectively and Commitment.
Working pattern
This post includes participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota. Postgraduate training and a buddy system will be provided to support this. The role is also subject to a seven-day working pattern, with extended hours between 08:00 and 20:00.
Candidate profile
This opportunity is ideally suited to a newly qualified or recently qualified Physiotherapist, particularly someone seeking a Trust with strong rotational experience, mentoring and sustained support. A detailed preceptorship programme is available for those in their first year of practice or returning to practice, along with extensive in-service training and development opportunities.
Driver requirement
A full car driver with access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential. Applicants must clearly state this within their application.
