Role overview

Metro South Health is looking for a Roster Support Officer to help keep healthcare services running smoothly by coordinating staff rosters, workforce support activities, and scheduling accuracy in a busy clinical setting. This role plays an important part in making sure the right people are allocated to the right shifts so patient care remains uninterrupted.

What you will do

Working closely with nurse unit and line managers, you will provide reliable rostering and workforce administration support across the service. The position involves managing rosters, leave requests, and shift coverage, as well as maintaining workforce records and helping ensure pay outcomes are correct. You will also contribute strong organisation, customer service, and problem-solving skills to support efficient workforce deployment.

  • Experience in rostering, workforce management, or scheduling within a large and complex organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability to resolve roster and workforce issues efficiently.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines.
  • Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills to work cooperatively with managers, staff, and support teams.
  • A strong commitment to customer service and careful attention to workforce records, payroll accuracy, and rostering processes.
