Job Overview
The Room Attendant will maintain clean and appealing guest rooms while delivering attentive, polite, and efficient service to guests. This role is based at the Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows in Lahaina, Hawaii—a beachfront resort on Kaʻanapali Beach providing guests with an authentic Hawaiian experience amid tropical scenery and ocean views. The workplace fosters respect, growth, and a supportive environment for associates.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent friendliness, helpfulness, and courtesy to guests, supervisors, and coworkers.
- Thoroughly clean guest rooms adhering strictly to quality standards.
- Prepare housekeeping carts by gathering guest supplies, linens, and cleaning products before cleaning rounds.
- Dispose of trash and soiled linens from rooms and hallways promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of hallways, public spaces, and storage closets, including vacuuming when applicable.
- Restock housekeeping carts and replenish cleaning chemical supplies for subsequent use.
- Clean rooms ensuring doors remain closed unless guests request otherwise.
- Report any missing room items or maintenance needs promptly to housekeeping management.
- Manage lost and found items according to established procedures.
- Ensure guests’ satisfaction throughout their stay.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred; prior experience in hospitality or related fields is an advantage.
- Ability to stand for the full shift and perform medium physical work involving lifting or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
- Flexible availability, including potentially long or varied working hours.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with all staff levels and guests.
- Strong listening skills to understand and address concerns from guests and colleagues.
- Capability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines efficiently.
- Professional appearance and grooming, including wearing designated uniforms and nametags.
- Adherence to company standards for safety, confidentiality, attendance, and behavior.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to adapt to complex information and multiple sources.
- Willingness to cross-train in other hotel departments and perform additional duties as required.
- Consistently display a warm and friendly demeanor.
Bonus Details
Applicants with 3 to 5 years of housekeeping experience are eligible for a $1500 sign-on bonus, dispersed in $500 increments following 60, 90, and 120 days of employment.
