Overview

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Sales, the Rocky Mountain Regional Manager role demands strong expertise in distributor oversight and regular engagement with crucial regional accounts, both off and on premise. This position primarily focuses on managing 5-8 markets within the region, ideally based in Colorado. The role involves executing a sales strategy set by executive leadership and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive results beyond distributor efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Joint Business Planning process alongside distributor partners annually.
  • Achieve divisional and market-specific targets including volume, market share (index), and profitability as outlined in the Annual Plan.
  • Conduct business reviews on annual, quarterly, and monthly schedules segmented by state, brand, SKU, and channel.
  • Exemplify the company's vision and uphold core values in all activities.
  • Manage division goals including depletions, points of distribution (PODs), and product shipments.
  • Maintain strong communication and regular check-ins with distributor leadership to monitor initiatives.
  • Ensure brand development aligns with corporate and brand standards within the division.
  • Collaborate with the National Account Team for swift implementation of national account strategies and compliance.
  • Provide training to distributor sales teams to strengthen their knowledge of the AMASS Brands Group portfolio, including selling points and merchandising standards.
  • Evaluate risks carefully when making decisions.
  • Ensure accounts receivable from distributors are current and payments to AMASS Brands Group are timely.
  • Possess detailed awareness of key market players and conditions in each state covered.
  • Oversee important chain accounts with knowledge of promotional calendars, pricing approaches, and buyer contacts.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in sales with suppliers or wholesalers.
  • Preferred market experience in states including Colorado, Iowa, South Dakota, Washington, Oregon, New Mexico, and Nevada.
  • In-depth understanding of the beverage industry.
  • Proven success in wine and adult beverage sales management, especially within chain account and on-premise channels.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to close deals efficiently.
  • Problem-solving capabilities yielding mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • High integrity, self-confidence, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic and creative thinker capable of making difficult decisions.
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and goal-oriented.
  • Effective industry contacts across all three tiers.
  • A strong sense of urgency and commitment to target achievement.
  • Proficiency with PC software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to analyze industry data from sources like Nielsen and IRi.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Clean driving record along with a personal vehicle and insurance.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 50% travel including overnight stays).
  • Availability to work weekends and evenings as necessary.
