Role Overview
This position is located at ADI's Limerick Class 10 cleanroom wafer fabrication facility, involving work with cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing devices and robotic systems.
Primary Duties
- Assist with both scheduled and unscheduled equipment repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Engage in root cause analysis and troubleshooting down to the component level.
- Participate in tool development efforts and enhancements, including robotics automation initiatives.
- Lead and contribute to improvement projects as part of collaborative teams or independently.
- Cooperate with experienced mentors for hands-on hardware investigations and problem-solving.
- Deliver presentations outlining completed projects, insights gained, and proposed improvements.
- Interpret and utilize technical documents, schematics, and diagrams, employing various tools and test equipment.
- Communicate challenges and solutions clearly and confidently within diverse teams adaptable to changing priorities.
Robotics and Automation Focus
- Gain practical exposure to robotic wafer handling and automated transfer systems.
- Contribute to calibration and upkeep of robotic arms and automated equipment.
- Assist troubleshooting activities involving robotic motion control and sensor systems.
- Learn integration processes involving robotics with vacuum and pneumatic technologies.
- Engage in projects aimed at elevating robotic system throughput and dependability.
Technological Environment
- Work with advanced semiconductor tools featuring electronics, high vacuum, pneumatics, and robotics technologies.
- Hands-on experience may include platforms like Applied Materials Implanters, Akrion Wet Benches, Aviza Furnaces, TEL Tracks, Nikon Steppers, LAM Etchers, Novellus Deposition, and Semitool Wet Chemistry systems.
Additional Details
- The role includes a rotating shift schedule with an additional shift premium.
- Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s or Honours Bachelor’s degree (NFQ Level 7 or 8), ideally graduated within the last two years.
- Prior experience or knowledge of regulated manufacturing environments or equipment maintenance is advantageous.
- Competence in analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving methods like Root Cause Analysis, 5-Why technique, and achieving first-time repair success is expected.
- Ability to adhere to preventative maintenance and standard operating procedures is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Flexibility to work a 5-cycle shift pattern must be maintained.
