Overview
Join The AA as a roadside rescue mechanic and help drivers get moving again when breakdowns happen. In this role, you will represent the UK’s largest motoring organisation and provide calm, dependable support to members in all kinds of weather and across a wide range of locations.
Pay and working pattern
Guaranteed first-year earnings are £39,270, including allowances. Top performers can earn up to £60,000 OTE. The role is based on an average 40-hour week, with several shift-pattern choices available so you can select a schedule that better fits your personal and work needs. The number of rest days and shift lengths depend on the pattern you choose.
What you will do
- Begin and end your shift from home, with paid time counted from when you get into your van until you return home.
- Work on your own across different locations and conditions while still contributing to a supportive team.
- Use your mechanical expertise and communication skills to deliver a positive experience for customers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve roadside issues quickly and safely using a composed, practical approach.
What you need
- NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or an equivalent qualification backed by relevant experience.
- A full Category B driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Comfort using new technology and adapting to the tools provided.
- Willingness to work varied shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
