Job Overview
The Roads & Civil Inspector will assist the supervision team by overseeing construction activities related to roads, drainage, and storm water infrastructure. The role ensures all works comply with project specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily inspections and supervision of construction tasks involving roads, storm water networks, and associated civil infrastructure.
- Verify contractor work aligns with approved plans, specifications, and contractual agreements.
- Perform site evaluations for various scopes including earthworks, subgrade preparation, asphalt and concrete installations, pipelines, manholes, culverts, and drainage structures.
- Check delivered materials for conformity with approved submissions and standards.
- Oversee and participate in QA/QC testing activities such as compaction, concrete, and asphalt tests.
- Generate inspection and non-conformance reports, ensuring timely follow-up on corrective measures.
- Monitor contractor progress closely; report any delays or quality concerns to the Resident Engineer.
- Enforce compliance with HSE policies and safety protocols on site.
- Collaborate and coordinate inspections with contractors, surveyors, and laboratory personnel.
- Maintain detailed site documentation including daily logs and photographic evidence.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 5 to 8 years' experience in construction supervision or inspection positions.
- Demonstrated background with roads, drainage, and storm water infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with engineering consultancies or supervision consultants required.
- Strong understanding of construction standards, quality assurance/control processes, and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with Saudi Arabian standards and municipal requirements is advantageous.
