Job description

About the Company

Binance operates one of the world’s largest crypto exchanges and sits at the center of a broad blockchain ecosystem. The platform serves more than 300 million users across 100+ countries and is known for its security standards, visibility into user funds, fast trading infrastructure, strong liquidity, and a wide range of digital asset products. Its services span trading, finance, education, research, payments, institutional offerings, Web3 tools, and related solutions. The company aims to expand access to financial services and support greater freedom of money through digital assets and blockchain technology.

About the Role

The Risk team is hiring an experienced Risk Operations Agent to help apply risk controls across the Binance platform and its users. In this role, you will assess suspicious signals such as fraud alerts, email alerts, SMS alerts, and service requests to decide whether recent account activity appears fraudulent. Investigations will rely on multiple sources, including direct customer outreach, account review, account ratings, phone-match checks, IP lookups, and other online verification tools.

You will also help customers better understand account processes while supporting loss prevention and security education. The role involves reviewing documents, analyzing information, and deciding in a timely way whether transactions or activities are genuine. Clear communication with customers may be needed to request more information and explain outcomes. Success in this position calls for strong organization, efficiency, analytical thinking, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work through assigned account queues to judge whether accounts and account holders are legitimate, assess risk levels, and decide on the right restriction or dismissal outcome for each case.
  • Reach out to account holders to confirm activity, look into potential issues, and help reduce possible losses.
  • Track cases and reports on an ongoing basis to spot new trends, patterns, and risks, and share relevant insights with management.
  • Watch account behavior for unusual or suspicious activity and act quickly to stop fraudulent or unauthorized transactions.

Requirements

  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in environments that are highly rule-based, process-driven, or involve elevated risk, ideally in financial services, fraud prevention, risk, or compliance.
  • Strong analytical and investigative ability with a proven capacity to detect patterns, anomalies, and possible risks in transaction and account data.
  • Hands-on experience with KYC/KYB reviews, enhanced due diligence, and transaction investigations.
  • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to prepare clear, concise, and well-supported case notes and decision explanations.
  • Good judgment and the ability to make risk-based decisions in complex or unclear situations with limited supervision.
  • Consistent attention to detail, accuracy, and quality while handling multiple priorities in a fast-moving setting.
  • Working understanding of AML regulations, financial crime controls, and transaction monitoring practices.
  • Willingness to support weekend coverage as part of a 7-day working schedule.

Why Binance

  • Opportunity to contribute to a leading global blockchain ecosystem.
  • Chance to work with top-tier talent in a user-focused global organization with a flat structure.
  • Exposure to fast-moving, distinctive projects with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Results-oriented environment with room for growth and ongoing learning.
  • Competitive pay and company benefits.
  • Work-from-home arrangement available, depending on the needs of the business team and the nature of the work.
