Role Overview
The organization is expanding its Investigations function with a hands-on specialist who can lead crypto-related inquiries, strengthen collaboration with law enforcement agencies such as the FBI and Europol, and help refine internal processes that may support action against malicious actors.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer account information, blockchain and off-chain transactions, account attributes, and supporting data to understand activity patterns and determine linked entities when needed.
- Carry out in-depth open-source research to uncover information that supports investigations and due diligence work.
- Spot unusual or harmful activity trends and use them to map networks of bad actors.
- Keep clear records of research performed, sources consulted, and the conclusions reached.
- Work with internal teams to exchange information and provide support where required.
- Use findings to share practical feedback with relevant teams so the security framework can be strengthened.
Required Background
- At least 3 years of experience in law enforcement.
- At least 3 years of experience in cybercrime or financial investigations.
- Strong Arabic language skills, since the role may involve communication with UAE law enforcement and other AML/CTF authorities.
- Demonstrated success in identifying cases or providing technical assistance in cryptocurrency-related investigations.
- Strong understanding of cryptocurrencies and the differences between separate blockchains and networks.
- Deep knowledge of DeFi, backed by substantial hands-on experience.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely.
- Comfort working with large volumes of data.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability, including creative thinking.
