  • Provide spoken and written guidance on civil liability and risk-related matters to local government organisations.
  • Support the creation of systems and processes that address specific risk management challenges within local government.
  • Build and sustain strong communication with internal teams, councils, other government agencies, and relevant private sector organisations.
  • Help promote a strong risk management mindset across local government.

Required background

  • Either a relevant auditing qualification or equivalent auditing experience.
  • Strong computer skills, including confident use of Microsoft Office tools.
  • A current South Australian driver’s licence and readiness to travel within the assigned regions.

Preferred strengths

  • Familiarity with the Local Government Act 1999 and other relevant legislation.
  • Working knowledge of legal issues connected to civil liability, contracting, and common law.
  • Understanding of the types of risks, roles, tasks, and activities commonly found in local government.

Why this opportunity stands out

  • Access to professional development, engaging work, and supportive leadership.
  • An inclusive and collaborative culture with opportunities to work alongside skilled colleagues on meaningful solutions.
  • A broad organisation that can offer career growth, along with benefits and rewards designed to support wellbeing.
