About the Company
Our client is a globally recognized leader in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector seeking to strengthen their risk management team.
Role Overview
As a Risk Analyst reporting directly to the Head of Risk and Controlling, you will primarily focus on market-risk oversight and middle-office control (80% of the role), with an additional focus on financial planning and analysis (20%). You will act as an independent collaborator to commercial desks, ensuring accurate position monitoring and proactive risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Track daily physical and derivative positions across a range of financial instruments including commodities, futures, options, swaps, and forex exposures.
- Continuously monitor market-risk indicators such as Value-at-Risk, liquidity needs, stress testing outcomes, and adherence to risk limits.
- Escalate potential risks to prevent limit breaches before they occur.
- Provide detailed analysis and explanations for fluctuations in daily trading profit and loss, mark-to-market valuations, and collateral use to both Trading teams and senior management.
- Manage middle-office controls encompassing trade capture, valuation inputs, settlements, and derivative lifecycle management.
- Contribute to financial analysis workflows including variance analysis, cash flow forecasting, and budgeting assistance.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a relevant professional accounting qualification.
- At least 2 years' experience in risk management or a commodities/trading-related environment.
- Candidates with a strong background as a Big4 assistant manager auditor with an interest in risk management will also be considered.
