About the Role
Interplan is looking for a Revit Drafter/Designer to join its architecture and interiors team in Tysons Corner, VA. The environment is fast-moving, collaborative, and centered on creativity, initiative, and professional growth. This position is intended for someone who is adaptable, comfortable working with a team, and has prior drafting experience in a commercial architecture setting.
This is a full-time opportunity. The candidate should be local and able to travel to project sites when needed.
What You’ll Do
You will support the design team by handling technical Revit work and producing construction drawings under the guidance of the Project Manager. The role touches multiple stages of the project lifecycle, including design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
- Work with architects and designers to understand project goals, scope, and deliverables.
- Prepare accurate technical drawings, plans, and schematics in Revit.
- Update and refine drawings based on review comments and project needs.
- Make sure drawings follow company standards and industry requirements.
- Organize project details from drawings, field notes, code references, and digital files.
- Measure and survey spaces to produce reliable background drawings.
- Help develop and improve Interplan’s CAD processes and procedures.
- Research design codes and guidelines to confirm compliance.
- Review plans and calculations for quality and accuracy.
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings at least 2 years of Revit experience, along with a solid background in drafting and field work. Experience in AutoCAD is helpful, but not required.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on Revit experience.
- At least 2 years of documented field and drafting experience may also qualify.
- Background in building or construction, especially architectural interiors such as corporate, medical, or SCIF projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and related tools.
- BlueBeam experience is an added advantage.
- Good understanding of architectural detailing, construction documents, and related procedures.
- Familiarity with building codes and work across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and multiple tasks.
- Must be local and able to provide transportation to job sites.
