About the Role

At M Group Energy, we provide vital infrastructure services across electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering, and home decarbonisation. As part of our Metering team, the leading service provider in the UK energy retail sector, you will contribute to accurate billing and energy usage monitoring by managing gas, electricity, and water meters.
Based in Merseyside (post codes L, WA), this position involves investigating and preventing gas and electricity theft in both residential and commercial locations. You will ensure installations are safe, collaborate with suppliers on next steps, and gather evidence to support decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and stop energy theft for gas and electricity installations.
• Ensure safety compliance of installations and coordinate further actions with suppliers.
• Assist in debt recovery, including installing SMART meters and disconnecting supplies when necessary.
• Maintain professionalism and composure, providing excellent customer service even in challenging interactions.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Valid full UK driving license with fewer than 6 penalty points.
• Certifications: CCN1, CMA1, CMA3 with MET1.
• NVQ Level 2 in Smart Metering (Dual Fuel) or MOCOPA.
• For electric-only applicants: MOCOPA (Single or Three-Phase), NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation, City & Guilds 2365/2330/2357, or Level 2 Smart Metering (Electricity).
• Strong customer service background with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

Preferred but not mandatory:

• 3-phase qualification / CT / Medium Pressure experience.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary ranges:
  • Single fuel: £36,431/year
  • Single fuel (3 phase/CT): £37,515/year
  • Dual Fuel after upskilling: £42,285/year
  • Dual Fuel (3 phase/CT): £43,370/year
• Initial training on upskilling to dual fuel provided with salary as above.
