Job description
Role overview
WA Country Health Service is seeking an experienced customer service professional to join Geraldton Health Campus in a permanent full-time capacity. The position is based on a 76-hour fortnight schedule and focuses on improving revenue outcomes while supporting a positive experience for patients using private health cover.
What the role involves
This position works closely with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders to identify patients who are ineligible, compensable, or private, and to help maximise hospital revenue through a range of revenue enhancement activities. A key part of the job is contributing to the development of revenue capture initiatives across the region, including support for Section 19(2) exemption processes.
Eligibility to be appointed
For permanent appointments, applicants must be Australian citizens, permanent residents, or hold a visa that allows them to live and work in Australia indefinitely. For fixed-term appointments, a valid working visa is required.
Additional conditions
Applicants should be aware that WA Health roles are positions of trust and responsibility. The recruitment process includes criminal record screening and integrity checking, and may also include a working with children check where relevant, as well as a pre-employment health assessment. Referees may be asked to comment on integrity and ethical conduct. Adverse information will be considered in context and does not automatically rule out an applicant.
Any appointment is conditional on a satisfactory Pre-Employment Health Assessment. If the assessment does not meet requirements, the employment offer may be withdrawn. The selection process may also be used to fill similar vacancies within the health service, and if the selected candidate declines or leaves the role, another suitable applicant may be appointed from this process. These provisions may remain valid for 12 months from the date the recruitment decision is endorsed.
About the region

The region sits in the northern middle part of Western Australia and includes the Gascoyne, Geraldton, Midwest and Murchison health districts. It is known for its distinctive natural environment and culturally diverse communities, with Aboriginal people making up 13% of the overall population.
Benefits
In line with operational needs, the role may offer a strong salary package and a range of employment benefits, including employer superannuation contribution, salary packaging, development support and flexible working options.
How to apply
Applicants must submit an online application with a 2 to 3 page cover letter addressing the essential work-related requirements in the attached job description, a current resume or CV showing relevant experience, and the names and contact details of two professional referees, preferably including a current supervisor or manager. All documents should be prepared in advance, as the online application process requires time to complete.
Applications submitted at or after 4:00 pm will not be accepted. Late applications and email applications will not be considered.
