Position Overview
As a Return to Work Specialist, your primary responsibility is to assist individuals recovering from workplace injuries in achieving a sustainable return to work and everyday life. This role emphasizes delivering personalized and compassionate face-to-face support to injured workers, encouraging all stakeholders to actively engage in the return to work process.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and coordinate in-person meetings with injured workers, employers, health practitioners, and allied health professionals to facilitate the return to work process.
- Provide education to injured workers and other stakeholders on legal requirements, return to work procedures, and supportive services to meet agreed objectives.
- Work alongside vocational providers and internal teams to ensure a consistent approach and successful outcomes.
- Participate in medical assessments, implement early interventions, and monitor medical and cost management plans to ensure long-term sustainability.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to create and oversee Work Plans and assist with workers' compensation documentation.
- Maintain thorough and accurate records, and engage in file reviews with employer representatives to support evidence-based claim decisions.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in Workers Compensation or Claims Management is highly advantageous.
- Background in Allied Health or Job Placement is regarded positively.
- Familiarity with the Return to Work Act, relevant legislation, and workplace health benefits is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong customer service orientation, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and the ability to work well within a team.
- Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous learning.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
