About the Role

Gallagher Bassett is hiring Claims Officers to support people and businesses through complex claim situations with care, accuracy, and a strong service mindset. This position suits someone who enjoys helping others, working through detailed processes, and contributing to meaningful outcomes.

New starters will be given a structured training program to build a solid understanding of the relevant policies and procedures before handling claims independently. Once trained, you will manage a portfolio of claims and provide professional support through precise and timely processing of wage calculations, reviews, and back-pay adjustments for employers and injured workers.

This is an on-site position based in the Adelaide office, located close to public transport. The team is expanding and offers the chance to be part of a growing, collaborative workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to collect the information needed for accurate weekly payment calculations.
  • Prepare, check, and update average weekly earnings and back-pay amounts within required timeframes and KPI expectations.
  • Review, process, and respond to incoming messages in shared email inboxes.
  • Maintain spreadsheets and system records daily to reduce delays and keep work moving efficiently.
  • Carry out wage calculations and reviews using average weekly earnings or federal minimum wage figures where required.
  • Check peer calculations for accuracy, identify issues, and correct mistakes where necessary.
  • Complete economic adjustment reviews for claims older than 12 months in line with legislative requirements.
  • Gather supporting information and calculate arrears for weekly payments or back pays.

What You Need

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role, ideally from sectors such as allied health, medical, hospitality, fitness, or retail.
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong administrative experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal ability and a team-oriented approach.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
