Job description

Role overview

The Retail Store Planner plays a central role in helping the store run efficiently and serve customers better by managing stock levels and product movement with precision. The position is focused on ensuring that the right products are available at the right time so sales can be sustained and improved.

Reporting to the Store Director, this role acts as a bridge between the store sales and stock teams, logistics partners, and retail merchandising and planning teams within the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Own store stock quality and the month coverage target.
  • Track stock performance and sales movement across SKU, model, category, and métier levels, while applying relevant metrics such as MOS and sell-through.
  • Hold weekly discussions with the in-store sales floor manager to keep the product assortment aligned.
  • Work with the store team and retail merchandising to put the approved product strategy into action.
  • Identify slow-moving products early and encourage the sales team to promote them.
  • Spot shortages or potential stock gaps quickly and recommend suitable alternatives.
  • Set, monitor, and improve the store’s stock coverage to support sales goals and follow subsidiary merchandising guidance.
  • Use KPIs such as MOS, sell-through, and stock ageing, and ensure product rotation from the remote warehouse.
  • Share weekly performance updates and stock strategy with the store manager.
  • Keep a close watch on storage capacity to avoid overfilling the stockroom and to support the selling strategy.
  • Organize front, back, and remote stockrooms in line with the product offer plan set by the Floor Manager.
  • When relevant, implement minimum and maximum settings in CEGID/COCKPIT for the store and remote stockroom based on product mix, sales strategy, and available space.
  • Review and adjust min/max settings regularly.
  • Plan product calls around peak periods such as fashion weeks, year-end celebrations, trunk shows, Métiers Discoveries, and new product launches.
  • Support product phase-out activities in coordination with the merchandising team.
  • Work with LDC to follow product call needs and compare replenishment plans against actual delivery, ensuring clear communication of priorities and requirements.
  • Partner with store management, local logistics, operations, and retail merchandising teams to achieve targets and manage stock balancing.
  • Contribute to stronger collaboration between the store and headquarters planning teams.

Profile

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience in retail back office work or in planning/supply chain functions. A solid understanding of basic supply chain principles and forecasting methods is expected, along with strong analytical ability and confidence using planning tools.

Success in this role also requires strong communication, sound judgment, leadership, and the ability to work smoothly with both sales teams and corporate stakeholders. The role calls for someone who is highly organized, meticulous, dependable, business-minded, service-oriented, and proactive in suggesting improvements and supporting others.
