Job description

Role overview

The Retail Store Planner supports the store’s commercial performance by managing inventory flows and stock levels in a way that improves customer service and helps drive sales. The role focuses on ensuring the right products are available at the right time, while maintaining effective replenishment planning for the store.

Reporting to the Store Director, this position acts as a key link between the store team, logistics functions, and retail merchandising and planning teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Take ownership of stock quality and stock month coverage for the store.
  • Track stock performance and sales trends by métier, SKU, model, and category, and use appropriate indicators such as MOS and sell-through.
  • Hold weekly alignment meetings with the in-store Sales Floor Manager to coordinate the product offer.
  • Execute the product strategy defined jointly with the store team and retail merchandising.
  • Guide the sales team on slow-moving items and help promote them proactively.
  • Monitor shortages or potential stock risks early and suggest suitable alternatives.
  • Set, monitor, and optimize stock coverage so the store can meet sales targets and stay aligned with subsidiary retail merchandising guidelines.
  • Follow key inventory indicators such as MOS, sell-through, stock ageing, and product rotation from the remote warehouse.
  • Share weekly KPI updates and replenishment strategy with the Store Manager.
  • Keep a close watch on storage capacity to avoid overcrowding in stockrooms and support the sales strategy.
  • Help organize front, back, and remote stockrooms according to the product offer strategy set by the Floor Manager.
  • Work on min/max CEGID/COCKPIT settings with floor managers where relevant, and review them regularly.
  • Adjust product call plans for peak seasons, commercial events, new launches, and phase-out transitions in coordination with the merchandising team.
  • Follow up with LDC on product calls and compare replenishment plans with actual stock reality, ensuring clear communication on priorities and needs.
  • Work closely with store management to deliver KPIs.
  • Partner with local logistics and operations teams.
  • Coordinate with retail merchandising and planning teams to escalate shortages and request stock balancing when needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in retail back-office, planning, or supply chain work.
  • Solid understanding of basic supply chain principles.
  • Good knowledge of forecasting methods and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with sales teams and corporate stakeholders.
  • Leadership mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Highly structured, dependable, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Commercially aware, service-focused, and proactive in suggesting improvements and assisting colleagues.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP, plus Word and PowerPoint.

Measures of success

  • Healthy stock levels maintained across all metiers in store.
  • Strong stock rotation that maximizes sell-through.
  • Delivery of monthly and annual sales budget goals.
  • Better product understanding across the store team.
  • Strong working relationships with store and corporate stakeholders.
  • Ability to build a collaborative partnership with the HQ Planning team.
