Job description
Role overview
We are looking for a Retail Store Manager to take charge of a newly opening Kids store in Narre Warren, Victoria. The store is expected to open in mid-June, and the role involves leading the team and overseeing day-to-day operations.
Why this role stands out
- 38-hour working week with no fixed salary; pay is based on the hours actually worked, with overtime penalties if you go beyond ordinary hours.
- Competitive pay package that includes clothing and phone allowances, along with a monthly bonus plan.
- Unlimited staff discount on clothing for you and your immediate family.
- Engagement and development initiatives such as team training nights, quarterly feedback surveys, modern learning resources, and peer-recognition award programs.
- Strong career growth prospects, with opportunities to move into Store Manager, Visual Merchandiser, or Stock Coordinator roles. The company notes that many Cluster, Regional, and State Managers and Visual Merchandisers started on the shop floor in roles such as Sales Assistant or Store Manager.
About the company
The brand began in Torquay, Victoria in the early 2000s with a goal of creating affordable, high-quality clothing that was missing from the market. It has since grown into a well-known Australian-owned and operated retailer with more than 100 stores nationwide.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of up to 25 people.
- Promote and model the company’s values across the store team.
- Keep the store presentation at a high standard and aligned with visual merchandising direction.
- Work with the Stock Allocator and independently to maintain healthy stock levels and make the best use of floor space.
- Prepare and track rosters, sales reporting, and team/store compliance.
What the employer is looking for
- Proven leadership experience, with a hands-on style that supports, motivates, and empowers the team.
- A customer-first mindset and a solid grasp of core retail fundamentals.
- Previous experience in retail or hospitality is preferred, but the employer emphasizes attitude over strict experience requirements.
