Position Overview
The Retail Staff member serves as a key ambassador for the KOTON brand, aiming to boost store sales through outstanding customer service and retail operations. This role involves executing tasks assigned by the store manager or assistant store manager while enhancing the overall shopping experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Welcome customers warmly and aid them in choosing suitable products.
- Convert casual browsers into committed buyers effectively.
- Promote the company's Club Apparel Loyalty Program to encourage repeat purchases.
- Set a high standard for sales achievements and customer service to inspire fellow sales associates.
- Inform customers about product details including features, benefits, materials, and care instructions.
- Stay well-informed about inventory and current promotions to communicate effectively with customers.
- Follow company sales protocols encapsulated by the GUEST method: Greet, Understand, Explain, Sell, Thank.
- Remain knowledgeable about the Group's brands to facilitate suggestive selling.
Leadership and Supervision
- Provide mentorship and training to junior sales associates.
- Support new team members by acting as a guide and buddy.
- Monitor the progress of learning programs for all store staff.
- Lead through example by demonstrating superior sales and service skills.
- Support day-to-day operations, including store opening and closing tasks.
- Oversee entry-level staffs' performance and give constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with management to enforce policies effectively.
Appearance, Attitude, and Knowledge
- Maintain a professional and well-groomed personal presentation at all times.
- Demonstrate flexibility to work extra hours during sale periods.
- Keep product knowledge current and minimize stock loss.
Merchandise Management
- Ensure stock merchandise is attractively displayed following layout standards to draw customer interest.
- Adhere to visual merchandising guidelines and clearance stock norms.
- Maintain accurate records of stock movement and inventory reports.
Operational Processes
- Efficiently handle Point of Sale (POS) and billing operations, with access to SIOCS, Zebra, and petty cash.
- Manage cash till reconciliation at shift start and end.
- Contribute to inventory management and participate in regular stock audits.
- Meet and surpass individual sales targets by engaging customers effectively.
- Process transactions and returns accurately and issue receipts, refunds, and change.
- Stay updated on fashion trends, designers, and the store’s brand assortment.
- Ensure security vigilance to prevent losses and adhere to standard operating procedures and loss prevention policies.
- Protect confidentiality of sales data from external parties.
- Continuously replenish and merchandise products on the sales floor to maintain availability and variety.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree and possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential for fostering a welcoming retail environment. Prior experience of 3 to 5 years in retail sales is desirable.
