Retail Manager - MEGA Papamoa

About the opportunity

An exciting leadership role has opened up in Papamoa, a coastal setting in the Bay of Plenty. The position is centred on people leadership and on helping shape a new retail environment from the ground up.

You will be responsible for setting the standard on the shop floor, supporting and motivating the team, and making sure customers receive a welcoming, helpful experience every time they visit.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide a strong leadership presence and help create a united, high-performing retail operation.

Key focus areas

• Lead confidently on the retail floor so the team understands expectations and has the support needed to deliver strong results.
• Coach, develop, and mentor department supervisors to strengthen capability, build confidence, and foster a culture of accountability and positivity.
• Work with the Store Operations Manager to improve stock availability, keep inventory accurate, and maintain efficient store processes.
• Drive a consistently excellent customer experience by reinforcing standards that support genuine, customer-focused service.
• Balance pace, people, and performance while keeping operational standards strong.

This role gives you the chance to guide a large and varied team while helping establish the culture, rhythm, and expectations of Mitre 10 MEGA Papamoa.
