Job description

About Nike Retail

Nike’s mission is to bring people together through sport and help build a healthier planet, stronger communities, and a more equitable world. The company looks for exceptional people who can deliver standout service and create lasting loyalty among customers.

Working in Nike Retail means joining a varied and welcoming team with room to grow both personally and professionally. The environment is casual and encourages authenticity, and employees also benefit from a strong discount program and a highly competitive benefits package.

Role Overview

As a Retail District Director, you will oversee a district made up of multiple stores and shape the vision and business direction that supports a strong sales culture, smooth operations, and key business goals. Your work will align with Nike’s brand philosophy and Consumer Direct Acceleration strategy.

What This Role Requires

Nike is looking for a senior retail leader with a proven record of running multi-store operations in a fast-moving, high-profile environment. The right person will know how to build inclusive teams through hiring, coaching, training, and clear accountability. You should also be comfortable identifying operational, technical, and organizational barriers and working with partners to solve them quickly.

You will be expected to lead your team in delivering excellent customer service, strengthening the Nike experience for consumers, and supporting community relationships through Nike’s Community Ambassador program.

Key Responsibilities

You will directly manage Store Managers and own the district’s people and business outcomes. That includes setting district budgets and forecasts, monitoring results, and evaluating performance against the market and store benchmarks.

You will create plans to improve profitability, efficiency, and growth, while guiding both existing and new initiatives through your understanding of consumer insights, market trends, and customer feedback.

You will also drive district execution to meet sales, service, organizational, customer satisfaction, and profitability targets, while ensuring safety and operational standards are consistently upheld. In addition, you will communicate rewards and recognition across the stores in your district.

Cross-Functional Partnerships

This role works closely with the Territory Senior Director of Stores, Territory HR, Talent Acquisition, and Loss Prevention partners to build long-term strategies that create impact across the store, district, and territory levels.

You will maintain strong collaborative relationships with Nike partners and monitor district performance using key indicators such as industry trends, customer experience, revenue, wages, shrink, and operating income.

Additional Information

This position may be based in Orlando, Tampa, or West Palm Beach.

The role includes travel, which may involve overnight stays.

Physical demands for the job include twisting, bending, squatting, reaching, climbing a ladder, and standing for long periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Why Join Nike Retail

Employees can expect a supportive, inclusive workplace with opportunities for development, a casual atmosphere, and access to one of the strongest benefit offerings in retail, along with an attractive employee discount.

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of retail management experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional, diverse teams of 75 or more employees.
  • Background in multi-unit retail operations and/or high-volume business management.
  • Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service in a branded retail setting.
  • Strong track record of building, leading, and retaining successful diverse teams.
  • Solid knowledge of retail operations, budgeting, planning, visual merchandising, inventory control, and loss prevention.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
