Position Overview

Join NIKE, Inc., a pioneer in athletic innovation and culture, as an Apparel Designer specializing in Jordan Streetwear. This role invites creative professionals to contribute imaginative designs and push boundaries in a dynamic, diverse setting. The contract position is based in Beaverton, OR, requiring onsite presence Monday through Thursday for a period of three months, with work options accommodating a hybrid schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop diverse apparel designs spanning seasonal capsule collections to high-volume franchise items, adhering to guidance from senior design leadership.
  • Shape and elevate the distinct aesthetic of Jordan Streetwear Apparel under the direction of the Streetwear Product Creative Director.
  • Effectively present design concepts to internal stakeholders, supported by design leads.
  • Collaborate and coordinate across departments, including Design, Technical Development, and Product Management, ensuring designs are practical within timeline constraints.
  • Offer design assistance to the wider Apparel Design team on projects beyond assigned duties.

Collaborative Environment

This role works intimately with the streetwear design team and key streetwear triad partners. It demands interdisciplinary interaction with graphics, color, material and trim development, technical development, product management, and sourcing teams, to drive the Jordan Brand's vision. This position does not involve direct supervision of staff.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Apparel or Fashion Design, or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least three years of professional experience designing apparel with a focus on material, trims, fit, and design execution.
  • Proficiency in fundamental design skills such as 2D CAD, croquis sketching, concept development, prototype fitting, detailed tech pack creation; familiarity with 3D design software is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the integration of materials, silhouettes, trims, colors, and proportions to produce a harmonic full look.
  • Excellent visual and verbal communication skills for design storytelling and presentations.
  • Capability to manage concurrent projects and meet multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Experience utilizing software tools including Illustrator, Photoshop, Miro, CLO, Keynote, and Vizcom.

Work Terms and Conditions

  • Position duration is a three-month contract.
  • Work location is onsite in Beaverton, OR, from Monday to Thursday, with hybrid options available.
